When a new piece appears at any Theatre, public curiosity is wound up to such a pitch that the first night is sure to prove a good one to the Manager, particularly if the author be a man of ability, and a favourite of the Town. But what will the Public say when they see announced for performance To-morrow Evening, at Astley’s, five or six pieces which never appeared before this season, and which, if our information be just, are so wonderful in their invention, and so beautiful in their execution as almost to stagger credibility? What will be the result to the Manager of that house of such unwearied assiduity? The reply is plain, such an overflow To morrow at the Amphitheatre of Arts, Westminster Bridge, as was never witnessed on any former occasion, particularly, it being for the benefit of Mr. Astley senior.
