AMPHITHEATRE of ARTS, WESTMINSTER-BRIDGE.
THIS present WEDNESDAY, OCT. 12, 1796, will be presented a Variety of New and Select Entertainments, expressly prepared for this Evening, particularly, for the third time, an entirely new whimsical Narrative Extravaganza, called
THE QUEER CLUB; or The Rum Chanters.
Through which Channel an idea will be attempted to be conveyed of the Eccentricities of various Characters who occasionally give their attendance at Clubs and Societies of this nature. The whole of this Novel Extravaganza, (written by Mr. Upton) will be represented and sung by Mr. JOHANNOT.
The celebrated Sig. LIONARDI’s CABINET of MONKIES.
Various Experiments, representing HYDRAULICAL [sic] DEVICES, and MECHANICAL FIRE-WORKS.
A Ballet Pantomime, in Two Parts, called
LA FILLE MAL GARDEE;
Or, The Watchful Mother Duped.
A favourite Comic Burletta, called
WHITTINGTON AND HIS CAT.
The Company or HORSEMEN will go through several extraordinary EQUESTRIAN EXERCISES; among which Miss DAVIS, (a child only five years old) will make her Appearance on a Single Horse.
And, for this night only, Clown to the Horsemanship, Mr. DAVIS; who will, for the first time, introduce to the Public two wonderful and surprising LEARNED PONIES, whose sagacity will astonish every spectator. Their uncommon Performances are not to be credited without being seen.
The celebrated learned SPANISH HORSE will accompany the above Ponies in the capacity of a Waiter, and perform several new and surprising Tricks.
TUMBLING and PYRAMIDS, by the whole Troop,
Particularly the ANTIPODEAN WHIRLIGIG, by Mr. ROBINSON, who will turn round on his head, without the assistance of his hands or any prepared apparatus, Thirty Times, to the astonishment of every beholder.
Uncommon Exercises with the VIOLIN and DANCING LADDER, by Mr. RYAN.
The whole to conclude (by desire) with a favourite Comic Pantomime, called
HARLEQUIN’s ODDITIES; or, The Devil in a Bottle.
