The last Night of the present ENTERTAINMENTS.
[three star symbol] Mr. ASTLEY deems himself particularly happy to find that his humble efforts in producing a Weekly Change of Amusements last season met with the satisfaction and approbations of the Public; a distinction of so flattering a nature as encourages him to say that he is determined to proceed in the same line of conduct in future, by producing every Week a successive change of Entertainments, which, being on a plan entirely originating with himself, induces him to hope that it will procure him a continuance of the favour and patronage of the Town.

THIS EVENING, the 22d of April, 1797, and every Evening during the Holiday Week only, will be presented, never performed, an entire new Musical Entertainment, founded on facts, and taken on the spot, during Mr. Astley’s residence in Ireland, called CORK IN AN UPROAR. The CABINET of MONKIES will appear at public Breakfast. Also the Swiss Hussar Sword Exercise; with a variety of surprising Performances on Two Ropes, in a most extraordinary and wonderful manner, on different Tables, Chairs, Pyramids, &c. Tight-Rope Dancing, and Slack-Rope Vaulting. These extraordinary Animals have been the admiration of all Europe, and Mr. Astley can assure the Nobility, Gentry, and others, that their sagacity is beyond credibility. Never performed, a Musical Entertainment, called THE OLD TRUNK; or, the LITTLE ORPHAN. Never performed, an entire new Dance, called the TRIUMPH OF VIRTUE, or CUPID’s REVENGE; in which will be introduced the ANTIPODEAN WHIRLIGIG, never attempted. WONDERFUL NEW EQUESTRIAN EXERCISES in perfect cadence; also playing the Violin in various attitudes on a single Horse, never accomplished by any other horseman whatever. The whole to conclude with a grand and splendid Pantomime, called HARLEQUIN CELESTIAL. With the greatest and most splendid variety of Scenery and Machinery, Mechanical Changes, and Scenic Transformations ever produced; also new Dresses, superb Decorations, Music, &c. The Pantomime to conclude with a most beautiful and magnificent Aerial Vertical Colonade, and Brilliant Transparent Celestial Temple, the whole of which in motion.
