A total Change of Performances, and the Last Night of the celebrated CABINET of MONKIES.
AMPHITHEATRE OF ARTS, ASTLEY’s, WESTMINSTER-BRIDGE, under the patronage of his Royal Highness the Duke of YORK.
THIS present MONDAY, May 1, will be presented, first time, a Pantomimical Sketch, called THE FAIRY’s VENGEANCE; or, The PRODIGAL CLOWN. The Scenery, Machinery, Dresses, Music, &c. entirely new.—First time, in the Course of the Entertainments, a new Comic Song, by Mr. Johannot, called A PULL at the ROAST BEEF; or, JOHN BULL a MATCH for the FRENCH.—First time, various singular and astonishing Performances with the Violin on the Dancing Ladder.—First time, an Operatical Ballet (composed by Mons. Mercerot) called LA FETE DE L’AMOUR; in which will be introduced Monsieur Vestris’s new favourite ALLEMANDE EN ATTITUDE.—First time, a Comic Piece, with its dependent Spectacle, called THE MAYOR OF THE VILLAGE.—EQUESTRIAN EXERCISES in the Intervals of the Performances; and at the particular Request of several Ladies and Gentlemen from the Country, the CABINET of MONKIES will exhibit a Variety of surprising Performances on Two Ropes, in a most extraordinary and wonderful manner, on different Tables, Chairs, Pyramids, &c.—First time, the whole to conclude with a Grand Operatical Pantomime (composed by M. Gardel, and as performed with universal and unbounded applause at Paris) called HENRY AND LOUISA; The FORCE of LOVE; or, The DESERTER of NAPLES. The whole of the Scenery and Machinery, Decorations, Music, &c. precisely in the same stile [sic] as it was given at the Opera House, Paris.—At the end of the First Part, (first time) a Comic Song, by Mr. JOHANNOT, called BILLY THE BARBER; or, WIGS and BEARDS of all Sorts. The Pantomime to conclude with a Dance by the Characters.
