SIXTEENTH WEEK’s CHANGE of AMUSEMENTS.

AMPHITHEATRE of ARTS, (ASTLEY’s) WESTMINSTER-BRIDGE,

THIS and every Evening this Week only, will be presented a Pantomimical Sketch, called The FAIRY’s VEGEANCE; or, The PRODIGAL CLOWN. In the course of the Pantomime, a new Comic Song by Mr. Johannot, called A pull at the Roast Beef; or, John Bull a Match for the French.—A Musical Piece, with its dependent Spectacle, called The FROZEN WORLD; or, The LAPLANDERS; in which will be introduced a beautiful Picturesque View of Lapland, after a Fall of Snow—A Grand Ballet (composed by Signor Marqui) called The ANIMATED STATUE, taken from the well known Story of Pigmalion—A Musial Entertainment, called The OLD TRUNK; or, The LITTLE ORPHAN.—In the intervals of the Stage Amusements, a Continuation of the Dancing Ladder. Likewise of the curious CABINET of MONKIES. Also the Six Divisions Sword Exercises, Arrack and Defence, Movements, &c. with a Grand Match, on the original scientific principle, by several Professors. And various Feats of Horsemanship.—The whole to conclude with a Grand and Splendid Pantomime, called HARLEQUIN CELESTIAL. With the greatest and most splendid variety of Scenery and Machinery, Mechanical Changes, and Scenic Transformations ever produced; also new Dresses, superb Decorations, Music, &c.—Mr. Johannot will sing “The New Cries of London,” written and composed by Mr. Astley, sen. The Pantomime to conclude with a most beautiful and magnificent Aerial Vertical Colonade, and brilliant transparent Celestial Temple, the whole of which in motion.

Doors to be opened at Half past Five, and to begin at Half past Six o’clock.

[three star symbol] In order to prevent disappointment to the Nobility and Gentry (who cannot always come to the Theatre previous to the expiration of the time allotted to their servants to keep their places) Mr. Astley begs to observe, that three Boxes, called Saloon Boxes, will be set apart for private parties, to which they may have admittance, at full price [smudged] all the periods of the performance.
