ESCAPE of Sir SYDNEY SMITH.
ASTLEY’s Amphitheatre of Arts, Westminster-Bridge.
THIS EVENING, THURSDAY, the 17th, To-morrow, Friday, the 18th, and on Saturday, the 19th of May, 1798, in addition to the following much-admired Entertainments:
1. The New Dance of the Irish Fair.—2. The War Spectacle of the Four Brothers, or Valiant Knights.—3. The Divertissement of May-Day at Bruxelles.—4. Ladder Dancing, Equestrian Exercises, Trial of Skill, &.—5. The Burletta of the Blank.—6. The Infant Rossignol, and various Comic Songs.—7. The Grand Pantomime of the Egyptian Oracle; or, Harlequin Criminal.
In the course of the Pantomime will be introduced the ESCAPE of Sir SYDNEY SMITH, pourtrayed [sic] in a most ingenious and novel manner, shewing [sic]
1st. The Prison of the Temple at Paris.—2d. The Fiacre, in which Sir Sydney was conveying to the general Depor.—3d. The Mob and confusion which favoured the Escape.—4th. The French Row-boat, with Sir Sydney Smith making the Signal to the Argo Frigate, his reception on board, &c. To conclude with an Analogous and Appropriate NAUTICAL FIRE-WORK; decorated, among various other Devices, with the Swedish Order of Merit, and the Anchor of Hope. The whole most respectfully offered to the Public; in commemoration of the safe arrival of Sir Sydney Smith in Old England.
Doors to be opened at Half past Five.—Curtain to rise at Half past Six precisely.—Boxes 4s. second price 2s.—Pit 2s. second price 1s.—Gallery 1s. second price 6d. Half price to commence at Half past Eight precisely.

On Monday next, May 21, an entire Change of Amusements will take place at this Theatre.
