MR. ASTLEY deems himself particularly happy to find that his humble efforts, in procuring the great extent of Exercises on Foot and Horseback, Wire, Rope, Stage Amusements, &c. have met with the satisfaction and approbation of the Public; he craves permission to say, in order to prevent disappointments, that the present Entertainments will close with the week, to make room for others in rehearsal—AMPHITHEATRE of ARTS. ASTLEY’s, WESTMINSTER BRIDGE.—Their Royal Highnesses the Prince of Wales and Duke of York’s Servants.—This present MONDAY, June 11, and every Evening this Week only, will be presented a Grand Cavalcade by the two famous Troops; the Horses will assume several wonderful new Attitudes, in obedience to the Riders, which will greatly surprise the spectators.—After the Cavalcade, Slack Wire Dancing, animated Architecture, Tumbling, Vaulting, Posturing, &c. by both Troops, assisted by the infant Pero, and the First famous Clown. Grant Train, line Vaulting over Men, Horses, &c. &c.—Also will be presented a Comic Pantomime, in Two Parts, with singularly constructed Scenery and Machinery, Magical Deceptions, &c. called, The QUIDDITY; the various characters to be performed by both Companies.—The two famous and surprising Performers in the world, will entertain the Audience with singular Manoeuvres with Hats, Oranges, Forks, Whips, through Balloons, over Garters, on several Horses, &c. &c.—In the course of the evening, the Grand TRIAL of SKILL will positively take place between both Troops. The Chiefs of one Troop are the original and celebrated Smith, Crossman, Handy, Davis, M’Donald, Ducrow, Lalouette, &c. and those of the other, Collet, Taylor, Lawerence, Jenkins, Ryan, Link, Bryson, &c. Their numerous and astonishing Exercises, expressly selected for this Evening, will be performed on the best trained Horses of both Troops. The Evening’s Amusements to conclude with a Grand Historical Pantomime, called SOPHY of BARBANT.—Immediately after which, Sir SYDNEY AMITH’s ESCAPE from PARIS, in beautiful Fire-Works; being most assuredly the last Week the above Performances can be given this Season.—To begin at Half past Six. Half Price, Half past Eight.—Places to be taken of Mrs. Connell, at the Box Office of the Amphitheatre.
