GENERAL SUBSCRIPTION NIGHT

For the BENEFIT o Mr. ASTLEY, sen on which occasion the most brilliant Display of New Amusements, ever presented at this Theatre, will be given, expressly prepared for This Night only.—AMPHITHEATRE of ARTS, WESTMINSTER BRIDGE. Their Royal Highnesses the PRINCE of WALES and DUKE of YORK’s Servants,

THIS PRESENT MONDAY EVENING. July 16, by way of Prelude, Part I. will consist of an entire New Comic Pantomime, interspersed with whimsical and interesting Incidents, called HARLEQUIN ARTIFICER; or, Pierrot in the Dumps. The Pantomime to conclude (by particular desire) with the Representation of Sir SYNDEY SMITH’s ESCAPE from FRANCE, by means of variegated, royal, blue, yellow, and brilliant Nautical Fireworks.—Part II. an entire new Delassement Comique [sic], invented by Mr. Delpini, in which he will perform the part of First Mademoiselle, sing a la Banti, dance a la Hillisberg and Del Caro, called, The MODERN SCHOOL-MISTRESS; or, I Know what I Know. With new Dresses, Scenes, Decorations, &c.—The Nobility, Gentry, and others, are most respectfully informed, that re-engagement of the Extra Troops of Equestrians having taken place, they will this Evening perform in a most astonishing manner; particularly SMITH and CROSSMAN’s surprising Troop, from the Circus, will perform the First Part of the Equestrian Exercises, and Mr. HANDY’s famous Troop, from Bath, the Second Part of the Equestrian Exercises; and the above two Troops, assisted by Mr. ASTLEY’s, (the whole 20 in number) will appear in the Third and Last Part of the Equestrian Exercises, which will greatly surprise the Spectators, not only from the unprecedented number of Equestrians, but also from the greatest spirit of emulation in the extensive Art of Horsemanship.—In the intervals of the above Exercises, various Performances on the Slack Wire; at the end of which, a Comic Pantomime, called, The FAIRY’s FANTASY; or, The Enchanted Manor; with new Scenery, Machinery, Dresses, Music, &c. &c.—And, on account of the General Subscription Night, (and for this night only) will be given a beautiful TEMPLE FIRE-WORK, in 20 mutations; at the end of which will be exhibited a singularly constructed Piece of Mechanism, representing Two Rattle-Snakes in pursuit of a Butterfly. The variegated colours, for brilliance and effect, surpass any thing ever seen in this country.
