The Amphitheatre, under the management of young ASTLEY, commenced its summer season last night with the most flattering prospect of success. The Four Engagements, or the Heroes of the Sea, is a spectacle of the most pleasing and brilliant nature, and the last scene beyond description in point of grandeur and brilliant effect. The loss of the Proserpine frigate is also to be mentioned in terms of praise, from the attention paid to the truth of the unfortunate event. In regard to the improvement, in every part of the theatre, the elegance and taste every where apparent will speak in their own behalf.
