The fine acting displayed by Miss Smith, as Dorothee, and M. Mercerot, as Dunois, in the Grand Spectacle of the Fatal Pile, at Astley’s, never fails to be rewarded with the warm and general plaudits of every admiring spectator. The elegant and superior Horsemanship of Crossman ranks him the most accomplished Equestrian of the present day; and while such Horsemanship, with the Spectacle in question, are to be seen on the same evening, with such a Pantomime as Quixote and Sancho, or Harlequin Warrior, the Royal Amphitheatre, Westminster-Bridge, must continue to hold its pre-eminence, in point of attraction, undiminished.
