In defiance of the noisy and riotous attraction of Bartholomew Fair, the Royal Amphitheatre, Westminster-Bridge, had last night to boast of a numerous and respectable audience, who, by reiterated bursts of applause, evinced the rational pleasure and delight experienced by the charming performance of the Deserter, and the beautiful Pantomime of the Pirate, or Harlequin Victor; the first of which pieces, with the other amusements, (the Pirate excepted) appear for the last time this Evening, Monday next being set apart to produce another change of Entertainments, in which Mr. Astley, jun. sustains the spirited and arduous character of Don Juan.
