THIS present MONDAY, September 29, will be presented (by particular desire) a Grand Spectacle, (produced under the Direction of Mr. Lasselles) called THE INQUISITION, or the MAID of PORTUGAL. Principal Characters, Mess. Laurent, Crossman, Mercerot, Gomery, and Lasselles; Mrs. Wallack, and Evadne, the Maid of Portugal, Mrs. Parker. Attendants, Alguazils, Monks, Soldiers, Jailers, Executioners, &c. &c. &c. The Scenery, Machinery, Music, Dresses, and other Decorations, entirely new, and strictly adhering to the Costume of Portugal.—In the course of the evening, Mr. Johannot will sing an entire new Song, written by Mr. Upton, called The Michaelmas Goose!—After which, a Ballet of Action, by Mr. Lasselles, (interspersed with the most admired Reels, Flings, Strathspeys, &c.) called THE SCOTCH LOVERS, or the GRETNA BLACKSMITH.—HORSEMANSHIP, and other Exercises by the first Troop in Europe.—The whole to conclude with the Serio-Comic Pantomime of QUIXOTE and SANCHO. The whole under the immediate superintendence of Mr. Astley, jun. In the course of the Pantomime will be introduced on the Stage Two Squadrons of Horse, mounted by Warriors clad in gold and Silver Armour, who will go through various evolutions of Ancient Warfare. Don Quixote, Mr. Bradbury; and Sancho, Mr. Laurent.
