THIS Present MONDAY, May 25, and every Evening until further notice will be presented, never performed, an entire new Comic, Pantomimical Ballet, composed by Mr. Lasselles, sen. called DARBY and JOAN. Principal Characters:--Mr. Lasselles, sen. Mr. Marqui, Mr. Mercerot, and Mr. Laurent. Miss Hall, and Mrs. Mercerot. Never Performed, an entirely new Ballad, written by Mr. Upton, and to be sung in character by Miss Gray, called ‘The Death of the Hare!’ After the above will be performed for the 42d time, by desire, and positively only for a few Evenings longer, the grand and popular Caledonian Spectacle of THE IRON TOWER.—Principal Characters:--Mr. Laurent, Mrs. Welldon, Mr. Lasselles, Mr. Mercerot, Miss Gray, Mr. Johannot, Mrs. Wallack, Mr. Astley, jun. and Mrs. Astley. Mr. IRELAND, the original Flying Phenomenon! will go through his wonderful Kicks and Jumps; being the last night but two of his engagement. In the course of the evening various EQUESTRIAN EXERCISES. The whole to conclude with, never performed, an entirely new Comic Pantomime Romance, written and superintended by Mr. Lonsdale, called PUSS IN BOOTS; or, HARLEQUIN AND THE OGRE! Evil Demons of Malsen, Perrottanian Satraps of Lord Ogre, Mezzettinian Suite of Prince Pantalonia, Reapers, Herdsmen, Dancing Dogs, Bear, Drovers, Waiters, [smudged] Passengers, Kitchen Maids, Beadles, Guards, Administrators, Trumpeters, Citizens, Sylphs, Demons in Chains, good Spirits, &c. &c.—The Scenery of the Piece includes a variety of Picturesque Subjects, as connected with the Story, and commences with a view of Malfin’s Cave, gradually expanding itself to the inside of a Mill. This is succeeded by an extensive open view of the Ogre’s Domains, which, by a general transition, is changed to a close Woody Prospect on the Bank of a River A rich Landscape View of the Ogre’s Castle, is followed by the representation of the Necromantic Ogre Saloon, which the magic of Harlequin forms into the Buildings of an elegant Square in an European City; and this also vanishes into a Turnpike road, with a Flock of Sheep passing. The Outside of a Country Inn is next introduced; and suddenly changing to the Inside, it exhibits a Bedchamber, which is again transformed to a Kitchen, with its corresponding objects. An immense Map of Europe is afterwards unrolled to the View, with a personification of the several Countries of the Continent; and this, by agency of Harlequin, gives place to a Grand Interior Display of the City of Paris, (occupying the extent of the Stage from front to back), comprehending the whole course of the River Seine, with all the Bridges, and Thulleries Palace, the Residence of Bounaparte [sic]. In a subsequent part, a mass of dropping Spar Work gradually covers the Scene, and on clearing away, discovers a Brilliant Fairy Hall. Doors to be opened at Half past Five o’Clock, Curtain rise at Half past Six precisely. Second Price at Half past Eight o’Clock. Boxes 4s. Pit 2s. Gal. 1s. Places for the Boxes to be taken at the Amphitheatre, of Mrs. Connell, Box-keeper. Mr. ASTLEY, junior, begs to announce that the late great and important circumstances attending the Naval and Military Operations in Egypt are in preparation, and will be presented in the form of an interesting National Spectacle in a few days.
