Of all the pantomimes of a comic nature produced of late under the form of an Harlequinade, Puss in Boots brought forward last night for the first time at the Royal Amphitheatre, bay be set down as unrivalled. This celebrated and laughable story owes its birth, parentage, and education to the wonderful Mother Goose; but in its present admirable shape to the abilities of Mr. Lonsdale and the liberality of Mr. Astley, jun. who has spared no kind of expence [sic] in the bringing of it out. It is almost needless to say that this excellent piece was received with loud and universal plaudits, and promises to crowd the House for some time to come with admirers. Miss Gray sung one of the best hunting songs ever heard with enthusiastic applause. The song is written by Mr. Upton.
