TO MR. ASTLEY, JUN, PROPRIETOR OF THE AMPHITHEATRE, LONDON.
Sir—In consequence of a happy reconciliation having taken place between both Nations, I take the liberty, as a Manager of one of the first Companies, perhaps, in France, in the line of GRAND SERIOUS SPECTACLE and BALLETS, consisting of EIGHTEEN GENTHEMEN [sic] and SIX LADIES, to make an offer of their services in those departments at your Theatre in London; and, however sanguine I may be in regard to their respective merits, believe me, Sir, that it is from the high opinion entertained of their talents where they have had the honour to appear (and that I am enabled to say, has been at the principal Theatres in France) that induces me to tender their performances for a short time before a great and judicious English Audience.
Should my terms (annexed) therefore meet with your approval, an immediate answer to me at Paris will oblige,
Siir [sic], your most respectful and obedient humble Servant,
COURTE ST. AUBIN.

TERMS—for the whole Company, on the express condition of producing a grand Serious Spectacle every week, with occasionally a grand Ballet, with new French Music, 200 Guineas per week, for the space of two months.
SIR,
I embrace the earliest opportunity to acknowledge the receipt of your favour, and am happy to say, that is has ever been my first and peculiar endeavour not only to produce novelty of every description appertaining to my Theatre, but to give encouragement at the same time to every performer of intrinsic merit; as such, have no objection to treat with you on the terms proposed, for one month only, viz. 200 Guineas per Week, with a proviso that the Travelling Expences [sic], both to and from Paris, is defrayed by you.
