Royal Amphitheatre (Astley’s) Westminster Bridge.—Under the Patronage of their Royal Highnesses the Prince of WALES and Duke of YORK. Mr. and Mrs. Astley’s first appearance this season, in a Grand Caledonian Spectacle as also the first appearance at this Theatre of Mrs. Wybrow, in the part of Columbine.
THIS and Five following Evenings only, will be presented (7th time), an Indian Ballet of Action, composed by Mons. St. Pierre, with new Music, (the Accompaniments by Mr. Lawrence), Scenery, Dresses, and Decorations, called ZELICO; or, The Rival Mexicans. Principal characters Mons. St. Pierre, (from the King’s Theatre, Haymarkey, his 7th appearance), Mons. Mercerot, Miss Johannot, Miss Jenkinson, and Madame Volange. After which, a new Harlequinade, called the Silver Star; or, The Mirror of Witchcraft. Silver Star, Miss Harrison; Fiend of Darkness, Mr. Fox; Harlequin, Mr. Taylor; Barney (with a song) Mr. Johannot; Clown, Mr. Laurent; and Columbine, Mrs. Wybrow (her first appearance at this Theatre). In the course of the evening, an entire new Song, by Mr. Johannot, called “John Bull and the English Constitution. Those celebrated horsemen, Messrs. Smith and Crossman, will, with their Troop of Equestrians, go through various unparalleled Feats of Horsemanship. The part of the Clown by Mr. Crossman. The whole to conclude with (not performed these two years), a Grand Caledonian Spectacle, called The Iron Tower, written and invented by Mr. Astley, jun. Principal characters: Douglas, Mr. Laurent; Gabriel, Mr. Johannot; Percy; Mr. Astley, jun.; and Julia, Mrs. Astley.—On Monday, May 2, will be presented the Grand Historical Spectacle of Fair Rosamond.
