THIS EVENING, July 11, will be presented, never performed, a new Divertisement, called THE INVASION, or All for our Country; in which will be pourtrayed [sic] the following new Scenes: Dover Cliffs and Castle. Song, “The Land we live in—View near Canterbury: Duet, “Go, Soldier, go, thy Country calls”—View on the Kentish Coasts: “The Loyal Britons all for their Country,” with appropriate Dances—A View of the Tower: Song, “The Chip of the Block.”—A Sea View, Britain Triumphant; Quarter Deck of La Loire, Intrepidity of Captain Maitland; Lieutenants Temple and Bowen, and the brave Volunteers—View of the Isle of Bas; the French Brig La Venteux gallantly boarded and taken by British valour—View of Plymouth Harbour; the French Brig lasein port: Song, “In defence of our Country and King” The Recitative, Songs, by Mr. Upton; the Dances by Mons. St. Pierre; the Music, with a new Medley Overture, by Mr. Lawrence; the Scenery designed by Mr. Grieve, and executed by him, Messrs. Smith, Clark, and assistants; the properties by Messrs. Bradwell, Rombalde, &c. and the whole produced by Mr. Astley, jun. Preceding the above, 13th time, the new Comic Pantomime, by Mr. Laurent, called The GENII’s TOMB, or Harlequin Robber; Columbine, Mrs. Wybrow; Clown, Mr. Laurent. In the course of the Pantomime a new loyal effusion, by Mr. Johannot, called The Corsican Fairy. Equestrian Exercises by Messrs. Smith, Crossman, &c. whom Mr. Astley, jun. has re-engaged at a great expence [sic]. The Evening’s Entertainments to conclude with the popular Spectacle of MANFRED, or the Castle of Otranto.
