Amphitheatrical Intelligence.—The wonderful MUSICAL CHILD made his first appearance at this Theatre last night. We know not which was greater, the merit he displayed, or the applause he received. It is scarcely credible to belief, that a child only thirty-six months old should play with as good time, taste and expression, several tunes upon the forte piano, as the most accustomed matters. Indeed we cannot but give the preference to this child’s music. It has that simplicity of expression and execution, which evinces the excellence of nature’s efforts, when it is unspoiled by the affectations of art. So that from the introduction of this phenomenon to the town, we have not the last doubt but Mr. Astley will receive those encouragements which his desires to please the public to eminently deserve.
