First Night of a New Comic Pantomime.
Royal amphitheatre, Astley’s, Westminster Bridge.
Under the immediate Patronage of their Royal Highnesses the Prince Regent and Duke of York.
This present Evening, Prelude Ballet of Action, in One Act, called LOVE AND JEALOUSY.—After which, the popular Spectacle, called The TYRANT SARACEN and the NOBLE MOOR. In which Piece Twenty Horses will perform surprising feats.—Divers Exercises by Twelve celebrated Equestrians.—A favourite Song by Mr. Jones.—To conclude with (1st time) an entirely New Comic Pantomime, invented by Mr. Norman, called THE FAIRY OF THE OAK; or, Harlequin’s Regatta. Colin (afterwards Harlequin) Mr. Bologna, jun.; Sir Fretful (Pantaloon) Mr. Usher; Sir Watty Cockney, Mr. Boulanger; Dapperskip (his Man) Mr. Redesha; Drumken Buck, Mr. Bryson; and Clumponora dorigdumfunido (clown) Mr. Norman, of the Theatre Royal, Covent Garden, his 1st appearance these two years; Magiella (the Oak Fairy) Miss Blomgren; and Laureta (Columbine) Miss Taylor. In the course of the Pantomime will be displayed Thirteen entirely New Scenes, particularly a Sailing Match, with a correct View of the River Thames and Westminster Bridge, taken from the Surrey Shore, with the Sailing Boats in Motion, passing through the arches, lowering their masts, &c. in anxious competition; likewise a number of Craft, Row Boats, Galleys, Funny Club Boats, &c. &c. the whole forming a Grand Regatta.—Second Price at Half past Eight.
