ROWING MATCH.—Yesterday ASTLEY’s Annual Prize Wherry, given in honour of the KING’s Birth Day, was rowed for by six young men, in the last six months of their apprenticeship. It was the intention of the donor to furnish the winner with a substantial boat, to enable him to earn his livelihood. The competitors started at four o’clock for the first heat which was won by Watford, of the Temple; Dorid, of Hungerford; and Barlett, of the Tower. The latter started a second time, and the boat was won by James Watford, of the Temple. The river displayed a number of boats, with music and gay company. It was stated, that the winner of the first heat has acted unfairly.
