Astley is remarkably successful in his ideas of amusements for the publick[sic]. Nothing evinces this more than the rapidity with which his excellent piece of the Plymouth Royal Review has been produced since his favourite representation of the Bastile. The vivacity, humour, and character of his last piece is only to be exceeded by the excellence of the scenery. Never did performers exert themselves with more success for the entertainment of their audiences or more credit to themselves.
