Yesterday Mr. ASTLEY, of the Amphitheatre received a letter from Mr. PARKER, dated Newcastle, Oct. 6, of which we subjoin an extract. It is, however, evident that the statement is founded on an exaggerated Russian Report of the Battle of Borodino, and that the dates given are erroneous:--

“A cutter arrived this evening at Sunderland, with dispatches from the Baltic, to laud [sic] a Messenger at the first British port he could make.

“There has been another dreadful battle fought close to Moscow, on the 15th, 16th, and 17th, three days successive fighting. The first two days the French had the advantage, but one the third day the Russians were joined by ninety thousand fresh men from Moscow, which instantly decided the day in favour of the Russians.

“The King of Naples is killed, and another French Prince, with fifty thousand of the French, and one hundred pieces of cannon. The French retreated twenty English miles the day after the battle.”
