ASTLEY’s THEATRE, WESTMINSTER BRIDGE.—The Summer season commenced at this elegant Theatre last night. ASTLEY has an admirable equestrian groupe, and we are glad to find the horses and their riders move again in their proper sphere. The chief novelty of the night was a grand equestrian and pedestrian Spectacle, entitled Ferdinand of Spain, or Ancient Chivalry, which was supported by some of the best performers, and loudly applauded. The entertainments concluded with a new and excellent Pantomime taken from the Arabian Nights, called the Four Gates, or Harlequin’s Key, which abounds with excellent tricks, and has a considerable share of picturesque and excellent scenery. The Theatre was crowded.
