INTELLIGENCE FROM THE AMPHITHEATRE RIDING SCHOOL, WESTMINSTER BRIDGE.

Last night the piblick [sic] was invited to see the representation of the engagement between the English and Dutch fleets on the 5th of August last; the action met with repeated arks of general approbation; the battle by a curious invention was represented as follows:

The two fleets are discovered in the heighth [sic] of action, yard to yard. Clouds of fire and smoke are seen pouring from all the ships, particularly from the Berwick and Amelia men of war.

The Dolphin is also seen engaging two Dutch ships of the line, who at that instant pour their whole musketry into the Dolphin, which compliments the Dolphin returns by firing a whole broad side and her carronades. The Dolphin, at this moment appears as a large sheet of fire, and fighting with three Dutch ships gun to gun; the Dutch line having received considerable injury from the British fleet, are seen to give way; their principal ships get out of action and sheet off, leaving a Dutch man of war behind, which ship having received several balls through all, particularly between wind and water, fires three guns in distress and sinks; a boat of English sailors strikes the Dutch pendent and brings it off in triumph. The scene changes to the garrison of Sheerness, with the representation of the King and Prince of Wales reviewing Admiral Parker’s fleet laying at single anchor, at the great Nore, which concludes the piece.
