Horsemanship with various Alterations & additions  

begins this day and continues every evening after    

Mr Astley the original English Hussar late Serg [Sergeant] 

Major of his Majestys Light Dragoons & Mrs Astley

will display then several feats of Activity at

[their(?)] riding school  the foot of West [Westminster] Bridge at

4 ocl [o'clock] in the afternoon – He makes his Horse

lie down imitating Death & [sit(?)] up like a dog

Rides a Horse on full speed stands only with one foot

on the saddle.  balances himself without holding  on full 

speed standing on the saddle  picks up a Sixpence on  

full speed from the ground  sweeps his hand along  

the ground   springs from the saddle to the ground & from  

the ground to the saddle  then flies over his horse several  

different times  the Horse on full speed  shews the different  

guards as in real action   rides two & 3 horses in several  

surprising forms   takes several different leaps over the bar  

standing & lying on the saddle   the Horse on full speed   

several of the above feats by Mrs Astley   The Comic  

piece called the Tailor riding to Brentford in dress & 

character by Mr Astley – the performances are divided into  

4 acts  ten different feats in each act & between the acts Signor  

Don Drego will entertain the Nobility & Gentry with several  

feats of Activity   the Doors to be opened at ½ past 3 & begin at ½ past 4  

precisely adm [admission] 1/ each – a commodious Room to see the performance 

     Horses broke for Road or field  an easy & safe canter taught those intended for Ladies 

Ladies & Gentn [Gentlemen] taught to ride & Horses to Lett to Ladies on Moderate Terms 

[manicule pointing right] Mr Astley will also ride at 12 ocl [o'clock] each day without fail till further notice 

when several feats of activity will be displayd [displaued]  Their stay in London will be short as he is  

engaged to be in Paris soon
