Though the host has been very great for several days past, the Royal Grove has been well attended, owing partly to the agreeable coolness peculiar to that place of Amusement, and partly to the pleasing change of Performances which began Monday last, particularly a new musical piece called the Blunt Tar, which gains uncommon applause, being truly characteristic and well supported throughout the whole, and abounds in excellent music and humorous song—a new Dance called the Animated Statue, also meets with great applause, the scenery and machinery being beautiful to a degree, the Grotto changing to a superb Visto, Porterre, and Cosonde, produces a most delightful effect, and contributes much to the brilliancy of the finale in the dance which goes off with great eclat.
