The entertainments at the ROYAL GROVE, are varied with so much judgement, and exhibited in such a stile of perfection, that we know not which to applaud; the happy invention of the Director, or the able execution of the Performers:--the new musical piece of the Blunt Tar, meets with great success, the characters being well chosen and supported throughout with great spirit: the new Operatical dance, called the Animated Statue, is also a capital production, and we may say, the best ever brought out at the Amphitheatre; the scenery and machinery belonging to it, is uncommonly grand, particularly the grotto, verdant arcades, festoons, transparent visto, cascade, &c. form a most delightful perspective. Young ASTLEY’s feats of horsemanship, are, as usual, great and uncommon; the rope dancing, tumbling, and other amusements, together with the grand Pantomime, &c. conclude the evening’s entertainments.
