ASTLEY’s.

Last night, according to promise, Astley produced an entertainment for the express purpose of giving his spectators an idea of Bagshot Heath Camp; and indeed it merited that which it obtained, universal approbation. We would ask Astley if the men who formed the advanced guard of the army, and who so dexterously struck their tents, and loaded their bat horse, really belonge [sic] to the Foot Guards, or not? They certainly are the most expert fellows ever seen, for they cleared the ground in something less than five minutes. This manoeuvre in particular gained great applause. Johannot’s medly song, giving a description of the whimsical occurrences on the road and heath, was encored; it was comic to a degree. The views of the army on its march, and the encampment, are matters we never saw exhibited on any stage before. We would advise Astley to run his piece every night, as we know of none better related to fill the Royal Saloon.
