OLD ASTLEY’S return from Valenciennes has given new life to every thing at the ROYAL SALOON, and to the neighbourhood of Westminster Bridge, which every night resembles the marching out of the inhabitants of a surrendered town, with this difference, that in the countenances of the audiences of this Theatre may be read the pleasure derived from its amusements, and may be said to create laughter in every bye-stander, while those of the others are as sure to excite pity. To the SURRENDER of CONDE and HARLEQUIN’S PROGRESS may be attributed the present overflowing houses of this, now, fashionable place; as every one knows that, notwithstanding their merit and attractions, they will very shortly be withdrawn from the public eye.
