TOTAL CHANGE OF PERFORMANCES.

New Pantomime, New Scenery, Machinery, &c

[pointer-finger symbol] Mr. ASTLEY most respectfully begs leave to inform the Nobility, Gentry, and others, that the curious Cabinet of MONKIES having given general satisfaction, he has engaged them for every Evening this Week.

Their Performances as follow:

Rope Dancing; Comic Consultation, or Tete-a-Tete; seated at the Table at Public Breakfast; wonderful Attitudes and Agility of Body on the Slack Rope, on full swing, &c. &c. entirely new in England, and positively beyond human credibility.

Under the Patronage of his Royal Highness the DUKE of YORK.

TO-MORROW, and every Evening this week,

A Musical Piece, called The

BLACK BEAR OF THE WHITE MOUNTAIN;

In which will be pourtrayed [sic] a beautiful Picturesque View of Lapland, after a Fall of Snow.

A Pantomimical and Comic Dance, called

THE DRUNKEN SWISS.

For this week only,

The celebrated Signor LIONARDI’s

CABINET OF MONKIES,

Who will perform in a most extraordinary and surprising manner on different Tables, Chairs, Pyramids, &c. &c.

Likewise astonishing TIGHT ROPE-DANCING;

Also, CONSULTATION AT TABLE;

At PUBLIC BREAKFAST;

Likewise, singular Performances on the SLACK ROPE,

&c. &c. &c.

[pointer-finger symbol] The Cabinet of Monkies has for a long time been the Admiration of the Curious on the Continent, as well from their singularity, as their agility, in their different performances.

A New Musical Piece, translated from the French, called

THE WIDOW AND NO WIDOW.

A Comic Dance, called

THE MERRY SAILORS.

A whimsical Comic Olio (by Mr. JOHANNOT), called

THE NINE MUSICAL TAYLORS;

Or, A SURE WAY TO GET RICH.

The principal characters in this whimsical Piece, by Mr. Johannot, and his fellow Shopmates.

The whole arranged, compiled, written, and composed, by Mr. ASTLEY, sen.

Various Experiments with different Chemical Apparatus, representing HYDRAULICAL [sic] DEVICES, and MECHANICAL FIRE-WORKS.

In the intervals,

VARIOUS EQUESTRIAN EXERCISES.

The whole to conclude with a Comic Pantomime (not performed these three years), called

THE WEIRD SISTERS;

Or, THE TEMPLE OF WISDOM.

[three star symbol] The Scenery, Machinery, &c. having been destroyed at the Conflagration, in 1794, has been the means of preventing this popular Pantomime being produced till the present time. Mr. Astley most respectfully begs leave to say, that new Scenery, Machinery, &c. has been a long time in preparation, and is now brought forward in a superior stile [sic] of excellence, for the inspection of the numerous visitors of the Amphitheatre of Arts.

Doors to be opened at half past five, and to begin at half past six precisely.
