EXTRAORDINARY NEW AMUSEMENTS, in Honour of his MAJESTY’s BIRTH-DAY.
AMPHITHEATRE OF ARTS, WESTMINSTER-BRIDGE, by their Royal Highnesses the Prince of WALES and Duke of YORK’s Servants,
THIS present MONDAY, June 5th, never performed in this kingdom, a Comic Pantomimical Sketch, called THE WHIM OF THE MOMENT. Also, never performed in this kingdom, an entire new Musical Entertainment, called THE STRAIGHT WAISTCOAT; or, THE GRUMBLER.—Likewise, never performed in this kingdom, an entire new Ballet, en Demi Charactere, called HURRY SCURRY; or, RURAL RUMPUS.—And, never performed in this kingdom, an entire new Comic Song, in Dress and Character, by Mr. JOHANNOT, called THE BASKET OF MOSS ROSES—To which will be added (never performed in this kingdom) an entire new Harlequin Pantomime, called WHAT WE ARE, NOT WHAT WE WERE; or, THE WORLD METAMORPHOSED. In which will be interspersed a great number of Mechanical Deceptions, on a principle entirely novel, forming a Grand Display of Scenic Transformations. The Characters heightened with a variety of humorous, burlesque, grotesque, and droll Situations; the whole being one of the most complete Magical and Whimsical Caricatures ever produced.
[three star symbol] Mr. ASTLELY, Sen. most respectfully craves permission to say, that, on perusal of the above Bill of Fare, it will be seen that no pains or expenses have been spared in providing, perhaps, one of the most extensive Routine of New Amusements ever presented; and which he challenges any Summer Theatre to produce the like.—He has also re-engaged the celebrated Mr. HANDY, and the whole of his Company, assisted by two of the first Horsewomen in England, to perform during the Holiday Week. And the laughable and extraordinary CABINET of MONKIES will appear.
On account of the extraordinary Variety this night, the Doors will be opened at a Quarter past Five, and the Curtain to rise at a Quarter past Six.—Admittance as usual.
