A CHANGE of ENTERTAINMENTS, and first Appearance of the FLEMISH HERCULES, whom Mr. ASTLEY, Jun. has engaged for Six Nights only, at a considerable expence [sic], prior to his making his Tour through England, having lately arrived from the Continent for that express purpose.

For the Benefit of Mr. SMITH, the surprising Equestrian.

THIS present MONDAY, May 5, will be presented (first time this Season) by desire of several Military Officers, the last new Grand Spectacle of Action, founded on the late brilliant Occurrences in India, called the SIEGE and STORMING of SERINGAPATAM, or the DEATH of TIPPOO SAIB. The whole of the Spectacle invented, composed, arranged, and got up, under the immediate Direction of Mr. Astley, jun. with most superb Dresses, extensive new Scenery, Machinery, new Music, &c. &c. In the course of this interesting Spectacle, the following most striking Scenery will be displayed, viz. 1. A View of an Indian Sea-port—2. A View near the River Cavery—3. The Banquetting Garden of Tippoo Sultaun—4. A correct View of the City of Seringapatam, the whole of Tippoo’s Army, Elephants, Camels, &c. in motion, together with the Myfore Army, consisting of Peadars, Bungaries, Sirdars, &c. forming th Camp near Fort Periapatam—6. A British Battery opening a brisk fire on Tippoo’s advanced guard; particularly the blowing up of a Powder-Mill—7. The Fortifications and City of Seringapatam, with the Springing of a Mine—8. External View of Tippoo’s Palace, and his two Sons firing from the windows—and, 9. The Zermana and City on Fire, with a variety of Circumstanced which attended this important Conquest.—In the course of the Evening, the grandest Display of HORSEMANSHIP ever exhibited, by Twenty Equestrians, including Messrs. Crossman, Handy, and Smith, who will (for this night only) go through the following Performances: he will Leap over Two Garters, going once around the Circle. Also his wonderful Tricks with four Oranges, three Forks, Handkerchiefs, Ropes, Hats, &c. Likewise the Grand Trampoline Tricks; when (for this night only) he will Leap over Six Horses, through a Balloon of Fire!!! and over Twenty Soldiers, with shouldered fireclocks and fixed bayonets.—After which (for the first time) the wonderful Performances of the FLEMISH HERCULES, whose extraordinary Feats of Strength are beyond credibility.—The whole to conclude with (for a few Evenings longer) a Serio-Comic Pantomime, by Mr. Astley, jun. called THE DEMON’s TRIBUNAL; or, Harlequin’s Enterprizes [sic]. Harlequin, Mr. Lassels; and the Clown, Mr. Laurent. A new comic Song, by Mr. Johannot, called All the World turned Grinders.
