A CHANGE OF ENTERTAINMENTS TAKES PLACE
THIS EVENING, Monday, September 1, 1800, when will be presented, the Grand Ballet of Action of The DESERTER. The part of Louisa, by Miss Smith.
In the course of the Evening, Mr. JOHANNOT will sing an entire new Song (written by Mr. Upton) entitled “Somebody, Anybody, Everybody, and Nobody.” Also an entire new Song by Miss Gray, written by Mr. Upton, called “The Day of Marriage.”—A grand and pleasing variety of unequalled HORSEMANSHIP, by the celebrated Messrs. CROSSMAN and HANDY, assisted by the most numerous Troop of Equestrians in Europe.—The whole to conclude with an entirely new grand Serio-Comic Pantomime, arranged and adapted for the Stage by Mr. Astley, jun. and got up by Mr. Lasselles), called THE PIRATE; or, HARLEQUIN VICTOR. In the course of the Pantomime will be displayed, among a variety of others, the following striking Scenery, Machinery, Mechanical Changes, &c &c. 1. A View of the City of Algiers, the Triumphal Entry of the Pirate and Captive Slaves, with appropriate Banners, superb Naval Car, supported by Tritons, and preceded by a Grand Nautical Procession. 2. The Interior of the Grand Harain of the Dey of Algiers. 3. The Enchanted Faggots, and Fancy Bower. 4. External View of the Dey’s Palace. 5. The Serglio. 6. Inside of a Herald Painter’s Shop (England), with its transformation to, 7. An Old Cloaths Shiop, and afterward, into, 8. A notorious Tobacconist’s (with appropriate trickss [sic] metamorphoses, mechanical changes, &c. attaches to each scene). 9. Exterior of the Lyceum, Strand. 10. The Interior, with a Representation of Mr. Porter’s Historical Picture of the Siege of Seringapatam, (executed by the same Artist as assisted him in painting that celebrated production). 11. A View in the New Cut, Lambeth Marsh. [pointer-finger symbol] The shortest way from Blackfriars Bridge to Westminster Bridge, with the Tea Kettle House, and its dependant Machinery. 12. A Building on Fire. 13. The Tables and Chairs bewitches. 14. The Enchanted Basket of Flowers. 15. The Blue Bell’s Apparition. 16. The Gigantic Skeleton. 17. The Cavern of Revenge. 18. To conclude with a Fairy’s Palace, or Paragon of Enchantment.
