THIS present Thursday, and every Evening until further notice, will be presented an entirely new Military and Naval Spectacle, called BRITISH GLORY in EGYPT, written and arranged for Stage Representation by Mr. Astley, jun. Sketch of Scenery and appropriate Action:--First, Main and Quarter Deck of the Foudroyant, exhibiting a general Muster of the Troops previous to their Disembarkation on the 8th of March. Second, The Admiral’s Cabin, Sir Ralph Abercromby, Major Generals Hutchinson, Moore, Ludlow, Cradock, Earl Cavan, General Oakes, Colonel Spencer, Sir Sydney Smith, &c. in a Council of War. Third, The Foudroyant, Ajax, Europa, Stately, Diadem, Druid, Thisbe, Tigre, &c. exhibiting the Troops quitting the Fleet, Transports &c.—Grand Chorus. Fourth, Aboukir Bay, Mortar Battery, &c.—The French General and Officers collecting their forces. Fifth, View near Aboukir, and Fortified Height; the 23d, 28th, 40th, 90th, 92d, and brave 42d dashing on shore—The French drove from their position, &c. Sixth, Between Decks, Foudroyant, British Tars rejoicing—Song, Boatswain, by Mr. Wallack. Seventh, Mouth of the Nile, Aboukir Castle, &c. Sir Sidney Smith bringing up a Detachment of Seamen with Artillery, in order to besiege Aboukir. Eighth, A British Redoubt opening on Aboukir, with a Bombardment by Sea. Ninth, Internal View of Aboukir—Capitulation of the Garrison. Tenth, Distant View of Grand Cairo—General Menou, with the Cophts, Arabian, and Mamaluke Cavalry, with a regiment of Dromedaries on their march to Alexandria. Eleventh, British Commander in Chief’s Marquee—General Consultation previous to the Attack on the 13th of March. Twelfth, View of the Egyptian Pyramids, &c.—The Arabs Treating with Sir Sidney Smith. Thirteenth, British Camp at Shirk Jiberry—The Arabs establishing a Vegetable Market, also giving impertant [sic] information to the Commander in Chief. Fourteenth, The British Park of Artillery—Song, Arab, Miss Gray. Fifteenth, French Commander in Chief’s Marquee; Arab prisoner ordered to be shot for supplying the British with Provisions. Sixteenth, A View near Alexandria—A partial Attack of Infantry and Cavalry, as it took place on March 13th. Seventeenth, View near Aboukir—Song, Corporal Firelock, Mr. Johannot. Eighteenth, General Menou’s Tent—British Fortitude, Recitative, Boatswain. Nineteenth, Outworks in Alexandira—General inspection and Orders to the French Forces, viz. French Hussars, Mamaluke Cavalry, Invincible Legion, Troops of the Line, and French Artillery, &. Previous to the Day of Battle, 21st of March. Twentieth, Plains of Alexandria—Grand and decisive Attack by real Cavalry and Infantry; particularly the hard contest between the brave 42d and Invincible Legion. To conclude with the total Defeat of the French, and the Capture of the INVINCIBLE STANDARD, which is presented to the ever to be lamented Sir RALPH ABERCROMBY after having received his Death Wound. Previous to the above Spectacle will be performed, for the 10th time, the Comic Divertisement of DARBY and JOAN. Various EUQESTRIAN EXERCISES. A new Ballad, written by Mr. Upton, to be sung by Miss Gray, called “The Death of the Hare!” To conclude with (for the 10th time) the last new Comic Pantomime, or PUSS IN BOOTS; or, HARLEQUIN AND THE OGRE!
