The birth of our amiable Monarch was last night celebrated at Astley’s, by the front of the Royal Amphitheatre being illuminated in a very brilliant and pleasing style, perhaps as a kind of counterpart to the brilliancy of the entertainments within, where a new Military and Naval Spectacle, called British Glory in Egypt, was for the first time brought forward, which, for magnificence and powerful interest, exceeds every thing of the kind as yet produced on the stage. Indeed, the army is of such an extent, both infantry and real cavalry, as was never yet before witnessed within the walls of any theatre in the world.
