Fair Rosamond, or Woodstock Bower, is a spectacle so replete with interesting circumstances, all of which make an appeal to the heart of the most powerful and affecting nature, that an actress of only tolerable talents must at all times please in such a character as Rosamond de Clifford.—What then may not be said of so fine a representative as Mrs. Astley, whose very look is such as to give fiction the appearance of reality, and whose acting in the part approaches to the summit of excellence.
