The evidence of the public utility of Mr. Astley’s first Volume of Equestrian Education, already supported by upwards of two thousand purchasers, nay be considered decisive. This Book is translating into French and German by the Rev. Dr. Render; but we understand Mr. Astley is to receive one hundred and fifty guineas upon delivering the ten Copper-plates appertaining to that elaborate work. It is generally supposed, that if another edition is not published prior to delivering the Plates in question, the Work will be considerably more valuable, as the London Booksellers have not many copies left on hand. This rapid demand is not to be wondered at. Men of Genius undoubtedly know the value of cultivating in the present and rising generation such science, which not only embellishes life, but may be the cause of prolonging it, preventing dreadful accidents by horses, carriages, &c. thereby, in all probability, saving the lives of thousands. This, we conceive, cannot fail interesting all ranks immediately to purchase this valuable production.
