ROYAL AMPHITHEATRE, (ASTLEY’s),

WESTMINSTER-BRIDGE.

Under the Patronage of their Royal Highnesses the PRINCE REGENT, and Duke of YORK.

On Monday, March 30, at half-past six o’clock precisely, will be performed, (expressly arranged for the holiday week only,) a prelude, called the METAMORPHOSE, or Harlequin Dancing-Master, milk-maid, pastry-cook, chairman, showman, &c. and in which will be introduced, the two Learned Lap-dogs; immediately after which, with entirely new dresses, scenery, machinery, trophies, triumphal car, &c. a Grand Russian, Military, Equestrian Spectacle, interspersed with combats on foot, and horseback, songs, chorusses [sic], &c. called the BRAVE COSSACK, or the Secret Enemy; in which Mr. and Mrs. Astley will appear, as also the whole company. The spectacle will pourtray [sic] uncommon evolutions by various parties of infantry, Cossack Cavalry, Polish Lancers, &c. and exhibiting an extensive chain of mountains, rocks, rivers, &c. also two squadrons of real horses, under the most surprising obedience. In the course of the evening, popular songs, and extraordinary horsemanship, &C. particularly by the Equestrian Little Devil, (his first appearance.) To conclude with a new Comic Pantomime, called OLD BELZEBUB, and Harlequin, or Taffy in Holland, in which fourteen distinct scenes, of the most striking views will be exhibited, viz. in Antwerp, Rotterdam, the Hague, Herring Packers, Town Gorcum, Amsterdam, &c. Principal characters: Belzebub, Mr. Isaacs; Harlequin, Mr. Taylor; Van Gripes, Mr. Boulanger; Shenkin, Mr. Usher; Taffy, Mr. Southby; Little Dutchman, Master Laurent; Dancing Minstrel, Mr. Woodward; Columbine, Miss Taylor; and Vandervanblunderhead, Mr. Laurent. Doors open at half past five; second price half-past eight. Places to be taken at the Theatre from ten till three o’clock. No money returned.
