THIS EVENING, Saturday, August 29, will be presented, expressly prepared for the stage, a grand Military Spectacle, in two Acts, called The BATTLE of SALAMANCA! The Town of Major, and Spanish Heroine, founded on the late occurrences which took place at Salamanea; with the glorious and complete defeat of General Marmont and the whole French army, by the allied army, commenced by the heroic and gallant Field-Marshal the Marqui of Wellington. During the intervals of the stage entertainments, will be given a constant succession of Equestrian and other Performances; and in the course of the evening, the following entirely new Songs, ‘The Sailor’s Voyage to Edmonton Fair,’ by Mr. Isaacs; ‘Timid Johnny O,’ Mr. Woolse; ‘Knowing Jerry,’ Mr. R. L. Jones; and the ‘Soldier Lad and Nanny O,’ Mr. Johannot. To conclude with (for a few evenings only) the laughable Pantomime of the GOLDEN DREAM; or Harlequin and the Miser. Doors open at half-past five; begins at half-past six; second price at half-past eight.
