The new Comic Pantomime of The Persian Festival, or Harlequin Emperor, produced, for the first time, last night, at Astley’s Theatre, is certainly one of the most splendid and pleasing productions we ever witnessed. The Scenery and Dresses possess all the elegance and superb magnificence of the East, while the correct execution of the mechanical changes, and the whimsical incidents with which it is replete, gives it a proud pre-eminence over all its pantomime predecessors.
