Amphitheatre. ⸻⸻Last night several new performances were represented at this theatre. Among these Mr. Astley performed his celebrated manly exercise of the broad-sword with the greatest applause. The humourous burlesque, which was also added, of the taylors going a fox-hunting, produced the most risible effect we ever remember to have seen. The hunting song gives a reality to this droll representation, which tends much to heighten the burlesque of the taylors, who follow on basket horses, the dogs in full cry of a real fox, which is turned into the ride. The Taylors, in attempting to leap the bar, tumbling on each other, excite a general laughter throughout the whole audience. During this short exhibition, the Amphitheatre is in one continual roar of laughter and applause. We are, therefore, pleased to find Mr. Astley means to continue this and the other additional entertainments the ensuing week. The rest of the performances were received with the greatest approbation, particularly Gen. Jackoo, the English Devil, and the horse-vaulting Clown.
