INTELLIGENCE FROM ASTLEY’s.

More persons were present at Young ASTLEY’s benefit last night, than on any former occasion. Indeed the name of Young Astley is sufficient to make a house at any time. The performances of last night must be seen to be credited. The amazing agility of Young Astley on horseback, and upon the Stage, was such as we never remember to have seen before; his Harlequin was strictly in the Italian stile, and so exceeding clever, as to draw repeated burst of applause; and as long as Young Astley exhibits such powerful abilities, he cannot be thought, what he ever was, the greatest Performer ever beheld. It was computed that more than double the number that gained admittance, were back for want of room; however, at the conclusion of the Entertainments, in order to accommodate the outstanding Tickets, Young Astley, in a very polite speech, came forward, thanked the public for their patronage, and, at the same time, declared his intentions of performing the same Entertainments, This Evening, Thursday, which was well received. Young Astley is supposed to have netted at least 300l. We congratulate him on the occasion; and have only to say, was it twice the sum, he certainly deserved it.
